Westtown, NY; Roy Lewis Smith Jr. 80 passed away at his residence on Thursday September 1, 2016. Roy was born on July 11, 1936 in Unionville, NY to the late Roy L. Smith Sr. and Mertie (nee Terwilliger) Smith. Roy was a lifelong resident of Westtown, NY.
Roy received his Associate Degree from the Orange County Community College. He was a self employed carpenter.
Roy is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Caroline (nee Kukelka) Smith, and his two daughters, Sharon Mead and her husband, Joseph of Town of Greenville, NY, Karen Smith and Bob Nicholson of Town of Greenville, NY, and a son, Brian Smith and his wife, Stacey of Minisink, NY, and his 6 grandchildren, Ryan and Megan Mead, Derek and Mathew Blose, and Justin and Kevin Smith, and his brother, Gerald Smith and his wife, Marsha of Minisink, NY, and a sister, JoAnn Lalonde and her husband, Jack of Minisink, NY, and his sister-in-law, Mary Ann Peters of Milford, PA, and his 2 brother-in-laws, Frank Kukelka and his wife Joan of Minisink, NY, and Bill Kukelka and his wife, Judy of Vero Beach, FL and several nieces and nephews.
Roy was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Alan Peters in 1991.
Relatives and friends will be received on Monday September 5th from 3-7PM at the Ferguson Funeral Home 27 Third Street, Sussex, NJ and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Service on Tuesday September 6th at 10AM at Holy Cross RC Church,South Centerville, NY, committal and interments services at Unionville Cemetery, Waterloo Rd, Minisink, NY.
