Paul B. Ferguson—Past President
1934—2016
Mr. Ferguson attended Villanova University and later graduated from American Academy of Funeral Service in New York City. He purchased Ferguson Funeral Home in Sussex in 1959, although the funeral home was established in 1931. In 1970, Mr. Ferguson purchased F. John Ramsey Funeral Home and Sussex County Monument Company in Franklin. Mr. Ferguson and his son, Paul, decided they should continue to grow with the county and built their third funeral home, Ferguson—Vernon Funeral Home, which opened in the Fall of 1988.
Mr. Ferguson was a former member of Tri-County, NJ State and the National Funeral Directors Associations.
Mr. Ferguson served with the US Army Medical Corps from 1957-1963. He was twice elected Sussex County Coroner from 1960-1966. Mr. Ferguson served on the Board of Directors of the former Wallkill Valley General Hospital (Saint Clare’s) in Sussex. He was an Associate Member of the Sussex Fire Dept. and an Honorary Member of the Hamburg Fire Dept.
Mr. Ferguson was a member of the Sussex Elks Lodge #2288 BPOE and the General Judson Kilpatrick Knights of Columbus Council #5563 for over 50 years.
