Dear Aunt Ann, Cindy, Patty, Brian and Barbie, I'm so sorry to hear about Uncle Herbie and even more sorry that Andy and I couldn't make it down to the viewing/funeral. Ann and Herbie's Children...I worked with your husband and Dad while in the State Police...often drove with him to and from Trenton, NJ...we had many a conversation and I always found Herb to be a gentleman's gentleman...with Herb, common-sense dictated...I will always remember one of his famous quotes when discussing life's inequities and how people approach an issue: "It all depends on whose ox is being gored"---simple and concise, but the message was clear! That was my friend Herb---a man of high moral and ethical character that was always there to help a friend or stranger in need. God Bless You my friend---we shall meet again. Fred Martens #2215
