Obituary for James William Marion Jr.
Franklin, NJ: James William Marion, Jr., 72 years old, died unexpectedly on Sunday, December 25, 2016 at St. Clare’s Hospital, Sussex, NJ. Born to James W. and Margaret J. Marion in Jersey City, NJ, he had lived in West Milford, NJ before moving to Franklin, NJ 48 years ago.
James graduated from DePaul High School and then served with the United States Army National Guard. He worked as a mason and maintenance worker for the Vernon Twp. Board of Education for the last 24 years. He was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception RC Church, Franklin, NJ and led the confirmation classes there; he was a former member of the Franklin Recreation Commission, former leader of Cub Scout Pack 90, Franklin, NJ and coached the Little League baseball team, the Rangers. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing baseball and was an accomplished builder of many homes and other helpful projects over the years. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, brother in law and friend to all he met. Everyone loved him!
James is the beloved husband for 48 years of Peggy Marion(nee Whritenour) of Franklin, NJ. Devoted father of James W. Marion, III and his wife, Dawn of Montague, NJ, Todd A. Marion and his husband, Christopher of Quakertown, PA and Lauren Ann Quinn and her husband, Jason of Hardyston Twp., NJ. Loving grandfather of Max, Jack, Brooke and Logan. Dear brother of Joseph M. Marion and his wife, Lynn of The Villages, FL and Donald Marion of Upper Greenwood Lake, NY. Uncle of Christopher Evertz, Brittany, Joshua, Steven, Neil, Jessica, Jennifer, Matthew, Shannon and Jason; and many great nieces and nephews. Brother in law of Linda and Chuck Evertz, Mark and Fran Whritenour, Carolyn and John Orlich.
The family will receive their friends at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, NJ on Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral from the funeral home on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 9:00 AM. Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception RC Church, Franklin, NJ on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 10:00 AM.
