Obituary for Joseph Albenga
Vernon Twp., NJ: Joseph Albenga, 96 years old, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. Born to Carlo and Giselda Albenga in Italy, he came to the United States in 1952 settling in Closter, NJ, he then lived in Englewood, NJ then Cresskill, NJ for 33 years before moving to Vernon Twp., NJ in 1994.
Joseph served with the Italian Navy during WWII and worked as a machinist for Solatron Devices in Tappan, NY and then for Micronetics in Norwood, NJ before retiring in 1990. Joseph enjoyed working outdoors, reading and trips to Italy. He was a doting husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Joseph is predeceased by his wife, Liliana Albenga(2013) and was the devoted father of Lea Haddeland and her husband, Norman of Vernon Twp., NJ. Loving grandfather of Tania Hillard and her husband, Richard of Manalapan, NJ and Kristi Haddeland and her fiancé, Stephen Lambert of Port Royal, SC. Great grandfather of Madison and Richard Joseph “RJ”. Cherished by several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive their friends at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94(1 Vanderhoof Court for GPS), Vernon, NJ on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 from 3-5 PM. Funeral service to follow at 5 PM. Cremation is private. Memorial gifts to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, 99 Sparta Avenue, Newton, NJ 07860 would be appreciated.
